Career Information
Although most high school students don’t have set career plans, many have a general idea of where they would like to start looking. To learn more about careers, take some time to review the Occupational Outlook site sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor.
The site includes handy starting points—a job “search box” and an A-Z Index of all occupations in alphabetical order. When you click on a type of job, you get the following information:
The training and education needed
Earnings
Expected job prospects
What workers do on the job
Working conditions
In addition, a simple click will give you job search tips, links to information about the job market in each state, and more.
